6 women wanted after string of thefts in posh North Yorkshire shops

Police officers are searching for six women across Yorkshire following a series of thefts from high-end stores.

The women are operating in two separate groups and are not linked to one another but have struck in stores such as Jo Malone, making off with hundreds of pounds of goods.

North Yorkshire Police say the first theft took place at a business in Ingleton. On January 10, at around 12.15pm, a large number of items were stolen from the business. This included clothing and jewellery with an estimated value of around £5,000.

As a result, the police would now like to speak with three women. They have released CCTV footage of the women to assist in their investigation. North Yorkshire Police said: “Do you recognise these women?

“We’ve issued this CCTV of people we would like to speak to, following a theft from a business in Ingleton.

“It happened on 10 January 2025, at about 12.15pm, and involved a large number of items being stolen, including clothing and jewellery, with an estimated value of around £5,000.”

The second crime took place in Stonegate in York. At 12.50pm on December 14, 2024, perfume was stolen from Jo Malone, located on Stonegate in the city.

Now, the police have issued CCTV images of three women they would like to speak with following the theft.

According to the police, the three women may have information which will assist in their investigation into the thefts.

North Yorkshire Police said: “We’ve issued this CCTV of three women we would like to speak to, following a theft in York.

“It happened at about 12.50pm on 14 December 2024, at Jo Malone on Stonegate, and involved the theft of fragrances.

“Please contact us if you recognise the people pictured on CCTV, as they may have information that will assist our investigation.”
