During the incident a section of road was coned off and a police car and an ambulance arrived at the scene on blue lights. A recovery truck was also spotted at the scene of the incident.

A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of an RTC at the junction of the A4440 and Grange Way in Worcester just before 8am.

“An ambulance was sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found one car had come off the road. The driver, a man, was assessed by ambulance staff but did not require hospital treatment so was given self-care advice and discharged at the scene.”

The crash came as drivers faced delays following another crash involving two HGVs on the northbound carriageway of the M5 at around 7am which left three lanes closed, causing delays of up to an hour.

We approached West Mercia Police for a comment about the A4440 crash.
