The man was given advanced life support before being taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital following the crash in Powick.
An ambulance passing along the A449 Malvern Road came across the crash, involving just one car, at around 4.45pm on Sunday (January 12).
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “Two further ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham were called to the scene.
“The driver, a man, was in critical condition and received advanced life support by ambulance staff before being conveyed to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further emergency care.”

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “We were called to a single-vehicle crash on the A449 in Powick shortly before 4.30pm.
“One person was taken to hospital, where he remains in a life-threatening condition.
“No arrests have been made.”
The A449 remained closed between the village and the A4440 for several hours before reopening overnight.
