A9 closed both ways near Golspie in Sutherland following road crash; Traffic Scotland advising Highland motorists to use an alternative route

A road crash has closed the A9 in both directions south of Golspie, Traffic Scotland has warned.

Emergency services are in attendance, the traffic organisation said in a statement issued at 2.43pm.

Motorists are being advised to find an alternative route.

A Traffic Scotland spokesperson said: “A9 south of Golspie [is] closed in both directions due to a collision. Emergency services are at [the] scene Motorists are advised to use an alternative route at this time.

“Updates to follow as we get them.”

There was no immediate word as to the number or type of vehicles involved in the collision, or if there were any injuries.

Police have been approached for information.
