A92/ M90: Start date for major roadworks at Halbeath Roundabout

The works to Halbeath Roundabout will begin on Sunday, January 12.

As previously reported in the Press, the £800,000 of maintenance at Halbeath Roundabout is part of a major programme of works beginning early in the new year.

It includes the renewal of bridge joints, upgrades to traffic signals, road markings and resurfacing and will be carried out by Amey on behalf of Transport Scotland.

These improvements will all take place over the next 12 weeks.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and the travelling public, traffic management will include a series of overnight and full weekend closures of M90 slip roads. There will also be partial closures of the roundabout.

A number of diversions will be in place during the programme of works.

From January to February construction enabling works will be carried out under temporary traffic management during weekday nights between 8pm and 6am.

Then from February to March, traffic signal upgrades will be undertaken during weekday and weekend nights from 8pm to 6am.

To allow for resurfacing, intelligent road lighting and road marking works, temporary traffic management will also involve overnight works between 8pm and 6am.

A number of diversions will be in place during the programme of works.
