Armed police officers have arrested a man on a Merseyside estate. Police were seen on Grass Wood Road, Woodchurch in Wirral this morning (Tuesday January 14).
Merseyside Police said officers were sent as a precaution and arrested a man on suspicion of carrying an imitation firearm. He is currently in police custody.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We can confirm a man from the Woodchurch area of Birkenhead has been arrested following an incident this morning, Tuesday 14 January.
“Armed response officers were sent out to Grass Wood Road as a precaution as a man was arrested on suspicion of carrying an imitation firearm. He is currently in custody and will be questioned.”
