Baby-faced dealer ignored teen girl banning order

A North Devon man has been jailed for breaching an order telling him to keep away from teenage girls. Jamie Davison not only met three girls but also supplied cannabis, a court heard.

The defendant, now aged 21, was previously given a Sexual Risk Protection Order by the court after concerns about his behaviour were raised by police. It banned him from being in the company of any female under 18.

Exeter Crown Court was told he breached the order by first exchanging messages with a teenage girl and then supplying cannabis and meeting them in Whiddon Valley Woods.

The defendant, of Westbourne Terrace, Westward Ho!, admitted three breaches of the SRO and possessing with intent to supply cannabis. Judge James Adkin said: “It’s pretty clear you were seeking out and enjoyed meeting teenage girls.”

The court was told Davison was acquitted by a trial jury last year of a serious sexual offence against a teen he believed was 16 or over at the time.

He added: “The picture is of a man, then aged 19, with a sexual interest in young girls and this was a deliberate breach.”

Judge Adkin said Davison posed a risk of causing serious harm and jailed him for 18 months. He will serve 40 per cent of that sentence in prison.

He said the court did not have the power to impose a Sexual Harm Prevention Order but he said the probation “may want to think carefully” about Davison’s licence conditions to prevent his contact with girls.

Hollie Gilbery, defending, said he was immature for his age, had not properly understood the order, is neurodivergent and will be be heavily monitored back in the community.
