Inverness Sheriff Court heard that after being asked to leave, McGeough became aggressive to a female member of staff, headbutting her, and grabbing her by her arm.

Fiscal depute Victoria Silver said: “She was left with pain and bruising to her right cheek and right arm.”

After being asked to leave again by a male member of staff, McGeough forcefully put his head on him, causing him to stagger back.

Staff were eventually able to barricade themselves inside and call the police, and McGeough and his partner got in a taxi.

McGeough pled guilty to the offense, with Sheriff Sara Matheson sentencing him to an eight-month custodial sentence due to McGeough, previously having been given a community payback order for another similar offense.

Sheriff Matheson said: “This is the end of the road in terms of community disposal.”

McGeough’s defence, Graham Mann said: “Mr McGeough accepts responsibility and expresses shock, and is surprised at his behaviour and remorseful.”
