A 78-year-old woman has died and a man has been arrested after a crash involving a car and a lorry.
The incident happened on the A98 near Buckie at around 12.25pm on Tuesday, January 14.
The woman died three days after the collision.
The woman’s Nissan Micra was involved in a collision with a HGV lorry. The driver of the lorry, a 58-year-old man, has been arrested in connection with a road traffic offence.
The woman was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment but died today (Friday, January 17).
Sergeant Lesley Morrison said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased and they have asked for privacy at this sad time.”
The A98 was closed for around 12 hours to allow crash scene investigators to carry out enquiries and reopened at 12.20am on Wednesday, 15 January, 2025.
“Enquiries remain ongoing as we work to establish how this collision happened,” Sergeant Morrison added.
“Anyone with information or dash-cam footage should get in contact, no matter how insignificant it may seem.”
