The crowdfunder to help improve Burley Park has attracted pledges from 28 people, and this has totalled £1,930, taking the appeal past the £1,765 target.
The additional funds will go most of the way towards buying an additional ‘Park Welcome map’, for the one remaining entrance without a map.
The crowdfunder remains open until midnight on Wednesday 8 January, so if anyone feels able to help us over the final line, please go to the crowdfunder.
Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed, whether £5 or in a few cases rather more.
The next Friends of Burley Park volunteer session is Sunday, 12 January 10am-12pm, meet at the bandstand.
This month we will be replacing some of the damaged new trees in the park. Thanks to the Leeds City Council Woodland Creation Scheme and the Park Rangers, we will be planting another 12 standards.
The Rangers will assist us on the day, but we do have some bulbs to finish planting – if you’d rather do a bit less heavy digging but would still like to get involved we can organise a couple of small teams for bulb planting too.
