A man and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of robbery after staff at a Wallsall shop were threatened with a knife. Police said cheese and butter were among the items stolen from the store in Stroud Avenue, Willenhall, shortly after 12.30pm on January 2.
A 36-year-old man and 41-year-old woman were arrested close to the scene. They were being held in custody on suspicion of robbery.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We have arrested a man and a woman on suspicion of robbery after they threatened staff at a Willenhall shop before making off with goods.

“Officers from our neighbourhood team in Willenhall were on the scene quickly yesterday after a man and a woman had walked into a store on Stroud Avenue, shortly after 12.30pm and threatened staff with a knife. They then made off with items including cheese and butter. We arrested a 36-year-old man and 41-year-old woman close to the scene.
“They were taken into custody on suspicion of robbery. She is also being questioned on suspicion of five shoplifting offences. They remain in custody as we continue with our enquiries.
