Organised by the Natural World Fund, the event aims to plant 2,000 trees to enhance wildlife habitats.
Scheduled for Saturday, January 18, the event invites volunteers from various communities to help restore the land on the Northumberland-Cumbria border.
The organisers highlight the opportunity to connect with the natural landscape and interact with fellow members of the community.
A variety of native trees, including willow, alder, hawthorn, rowan, aspen, and birch, will be planted along a series of gullies.
The planting site is situated less than a quarter of a mile walk through farmland, extending onto moorland.
While the event is open to everyone, the organisers have noted that there are some access restrictions and advise potential participants to get in touch with any queries.
All necessary tools and guidance will be provided, although volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gloves, along with a packed lunch and hot drink.
Sturdy boots and appropriate clothing are also recommended.
The project is being conducted in partnership with Living Woods, and further information can be obtained by contacting volunteering@living-woods.org.uk.
Final details and directions will be distributed to participants prior to the event.
The tree planting day will take place from 10am to 3pm at Wardrew Farm, Gilsland.
Participation is free, and interested individuals can register at naturalworldfund.com/volunteer-tree-planting-day-saturday-18th-january-brampton.
