High volumes of waste from the festive period are still being collected by Wrexham Council.
The council have issued a brief bin update, “Due to the high volume of waste we are collecting, we are having to finish some rounds ahead of collecting all the recycling and waste. Rest assured after emptying our collection (or recycling and refuse) trucks we will return to collect the remainder (please ensure that recycling is secure from the wind).”
“As January 1 was a bank holiday, recycling and refuse pick-ups for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are a day later this week. So if you usually have a pick up on Friday, this will be on Saturday this week.”
Cllr Marc Jones shared an email to his Rhosddu ward, appearing to be to Cllr Becca Martin from WCBC, that noted ‘anything not collected should be collected Monday’.
Cllr Jones said, “A huge thank you for the super quick response from Kerry in street scene attached as photo – recycling should be collected Monday and I will send in specific streets tomorrow once I’ve collated them ☺️
“I’ve had reports that some bins in maesydre haven’t been collected today – I’m unsure why they’ve not been collected or when they will be but I will chase this up with them and update when I hear back”
The council added, “Our household recycling centres (HRC) are open as normal – where extra material can be taken and additional containers can be ordered an collected from HRC sites.”
