A MUCH-LOVED gift shop in the heart of Cromarty is up for sale, as the owners make the decision to “concentrate on family life”.
Ingrid’s House, located on Cromarty’s Church Street, is an independent shop offering home accessories and gifts from Scandinavia. Owners, Pete and Ingrid Rochford, began the shop in 2014 when they bought the house with the shop attached. They both share a love of Scandinavian design, prompting the theme of the shop.
However, after a decade of Ingrid’s House, the business and family home is now up for sale.

In November, Ingrid announced: “We are moving house to concentrate on family life. After 10 years, our wonderful shop is going from strength to strength and we are looking for the right person, with the same passion, to take it over. We have amazing and loyal customers and a wonderful team of suppliers.

Up for sale as a whole or in two lots, the six-bedroom home is looking for offers over £475k, and the ground floor retail unit is looking for offers over £105k.

The traditional, six-bedroom, C-listed, mid-terrace home is located within the Cromarty Conservation area. Spread over three floors, the property retains some original features such as cornicing, fireplaces and internal joinery. Despite dating back to the 1800s, the home was extended in 2018 with the addition of a multiple contemporary features.
Next door, the adjacent retail unit is also a category C-listed and mid-terraced property, with an approximate floor area of 43 square metres.
