Daniel Smith was jailed for wounding with intent after boxer Jon DP Shaw was stabbed at an industrial estate in Sherriff Street in Worcester.
The 36-year-old of Cranham Drive, Warndon, Worcester was jailed for 50 months at Worcester Crown Court on Friday, January 3 following the stabbing of the heavyweight boxer, boxing coach and promoter who lives in Worcester.

As previously reported, 34-year-old dad Mr Shaw, was stabbed through the chest on Saturday, June 1 last year and suffered a collapsed lung which required treatment at Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester.
Mr Shaw walked up Newtown Road, a distance of nearly two miles, before presenting himself at A&E with injuries described as life-threatening, later writing in a public Facebook post: “There is no place for this kind of sickening behaviour in our community.”
Medical checks revealed Mr Shaw suffered a collapsed left lung after a blade went into his chest near his armpit and narrowly missed an artery to his heart.

Judge Nicolas Cartwright sentenced Smith to 44 months for wounding, one month concurrent for damaging property and six months consecutive for having an article with a blade or point – a total sentence of 50 months).
Although the judge ruled Smith a dangerous offender, no extended sentence was imposed and the 50-month sentence will run consecutive to a sentence he is already serving.

A co-defendant, David Smith, 34, of Raleigh Close, Dines Green, was given a community order for 12 months for affray with conditions of a mental health treatment requirement and 10 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
We have approached victim Jon DP Shaw for a comment but he did not respond. It is known Mr Shaw did not co-operate with the investigation by West Mercia Police.
Speaking previously through his public Facebook page, he said he believed his boxing skills helped save his life during the knife attack on an industrial estate in Sherriff Street in Worcester with one witness saying Mr Shaw fought off two men, knocking one unconscious.
Both defendants were originally arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
