Police are appealing for information about a car used in a burglary in Wrexham.
As reported yesterday, “At 2.15am on Tuesday, January 14th, we were informed a window of a shop on Yorke Street had been smashed before two men stole a significant amount of clothes.”
Today police have detailed, “The pair fled the scene in a stolen blue Vauxhall Astra using stolen number plates.
“The vehicle was quickly stopped by officers, but the suspects made off and remain outstanding.”
Detective Inspector Gary Williams said: “The blue Vauxhall Astra tech line ecoflex 110 involved in the incident was stolen from a property on Hazel Grove in Wrexham two days prior to the incident on January 12th.
“The car, using the MK10 OLB stolen number plate during the incident, parked on Yorke Street outside the shop shortly before 2.15am, before making off.
“It was located a short time later in Caia Park, where it was abandoned.
“I am appealing to anyone who saw the car being driven prior to the incident on Tuesday, January 14th, or saw it parked prior to the incident, to make contact with us.”
“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information in relation to the incident is asked to contact us on 101, or via the website, using reference number 2500034237.”
