Dog walker dies five weeks after being hit by cyclist who fled scene

A woman has died after being knocked over by a cyclist while out walking her dog. The 57-year-old was walking with her husband when she was hit by the bike on Moorland Road in Splott, Cardiff.

The woman was taken to hospital but has sadly passed away. The cyclist has not been traced, reports WalesOnline. Police are now appealing for information and have asked witnesses to come forward.

The couple were out walking between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, when the collision happened. The woman was taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, where police said she died on Monday, January 13.

The cyclist, who is described as male, wearing a black face covering, white shirt, and red tie, is urged to come forward. Anyone with information or footage which might help is asked to contact South Wales Police quoting 2400428551.
