Emergency services were called to Powers Hall Road at around 10 m on Sunday, January 12 after reports of a collision between a Mitsubishi Shogun and a female pedestrian.
When police arrived they found the vehicle had overturned and came to rest on its side. The driver of the car was unharmed.
Tragically, despite the best efforts of paramedics, the pedestrian—a woman in her 40s—was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police closed Powers Hall Road to conduct an investigation and recover the vehicle. The road was reopened shortly before 3pm.
The male driver of the Mitsubishi was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
He has since been released under investigation as enquiries continue.
Detectives are urging anyone with information, dash cam footage, or any other relevant evidence to come forward.
