Four masked men armed with weapons including axes and an iron bar threatened staff and escaped with cash in an aggravated burglary at the One Stop shop in Waterbeach.

Police have appealed for witnesses following the break-in at the store in Green Side, which happened just after 9pm on Thursday (9 January).

The door was boarded up at the One Stop in Waterbeach following the aggravated burglary on 9 January, 2025

Afterwards, the men escaped in a blue Vauxhall Mokka later found abandoned in a lay-by on the A10, near Denny End Road. They are thought to have switched to a different car to continue their escape.

Staff were threatened by the weapon-wielding men but no-one was injured.

Cash was taken from the store, but so far it is unclear how much.

Det Con Callum Fullwood said: “This was a frightening incident for staff, and I can only imagine how they must have felt when confronted by armed men.

“It is thought to be an isolated incident but there will be an increased police presence in the area today and over the weekend.

The One Stop in Waterbeach was closed on Friday, 10 January, following the aggravated burglary the previous night
