Garton Caravan Site Ltd has applied to South Ayrshire Council for permission to form 15 static caravan pitches for holiday use.
The site near Coylton has been in existence for many years and currently permits 25 touring caravans for holidays.
The park is open for 11 months of the year and is required to be closed during January as part of its permit.
Separate toilet and shower facilities, and a wash block are centrally located along the site’s northern boundary.
The site’s owners are now looking to create 15 static caravan pitches, as well as keep 13 of the touring caravan spaces, leading to an increase in those staying on the site when full.
The static holiday caravans are to be sold to private individuals for their personal use only, and will not be hired out to separate individuals on a week-by-week basis.

Thirteen touring pitches will be retained, resulting in a net increase of three pitches. The existing toilet block and wash facilities are to be retained to service the touring pitches.
A new treatment plant is to be installed to the western end of the site, and a dedicated refuse and recycling area is to be provided adjacent to the existing garage.
Documents say that the proposals will bring additional benefit to the local community through longer staying visitors.
They state: “The sale of the holiday caravans to private individuals will encourage repeat visits to the area from the owners of the caravans, as opposed to passing trade from touring caravan owners who may use the site as a stopping off point to other destinations.
“That is not to say that some touring caravan owners will not stay for longer durations; however, the provision of static holiday caravans will undoubtedly encourage longer or more frequent stays.
“The knock-on effect for the wider community is that holiday makers occupying the static holiday vans are more likely to use and support the local services in Coylton, a designated settlement with a range of facilities.”
