The Hampshire Bowman, which lies between Bishop’s Waltham and Droxford, has been bought by new owners, who are planning to reopen in January.
In a post on Facebook, the new owners said: “After a long period of unrest, we are very pleased to announce that the long-awaited reawakening of ‘The Bowman’ is imminent!
“We are looking forward to welcoming you back in January, although the date is yet to be confirmed…
“We will have a fresh new menu alongside the well-known back bar full of well-loved and cared for real ales and cider (plus all of that other stuff on draught). We just need to get the last of the legal stuff out of the way and complete some repairs before we open our doors to you all…

“We promise to love and care for this historic pub just as those tenants before us have. The pub is patiently awaiting the return of its loyal customers.”
The new owners have been contacted for more information.
As previously reported, the Hampshire Bowman was previously run by Mark and Chloe Newman, who shut up shop in October to have more family time.
Located in the hamlet of Dundridge, the Hampshire Bowman is a detached freehold in a 2.5-acre plot. It has two bars, trade gardens and a car park with space for up to 30 vehicles.
The pub also has owners’ accommodation, comprising a living room with a kitchenette and breakfast bar, a family bathroom, two double bedrooms and a utility room.
