Inverness Airport card payment woes hit café customers for second day running, Highlands and Islands Airports Litd (Hial) confirms

Inverness Airport’s cafes were only able to accept cash payments on Wednesday and Thursday.

Airline passengers are being urged to use cash at Inverness Airport‘s cafes once again after technical issues with card payments continued into a second day.

The airport took to its social media channels on Wednesday afternoon to advise passengers that its Stag and Thistle cafes on either side of security were only able to accept cash payments.

And in an update on Thursday, they have warned that the technical gremlins have continued.

A spokesperson said: “If you’re planning a drink or a bite to eat at the airport, the Stag and Thistle cafes before and after security are unfortunately unable to accept card payments at the moment.

“Their team is working hard to resolve this as soon as possible. There is a cash machine at the airport, with a fee to make a withdrawal.”

They continued: “The issue remains for today (January 16). Cash payments only.”
