Birmingham Airport closed overnight with its X account telling passengers at midnight that it would be a temporary closure, lasting “a minimum of two hours”.

Just after 3am, it issued another update telling passengers that the runway had been re-opened “after snow clearing”.

It added: “The airport is working together with airline and handling agent to get passengers on their way following the #snowclosure.”

Birmingham Airport’s latest update posted to X says: “As a result of resilience teams working throughout the night, the start up to the schedule remains business as usual.
