Kelyan Bokassa Woolwich bus stabbing: Two teens charged

Kelyan Bokassa was found injured onboard a 472 bus in Woolwich Church Street just before 2.30pm on January 7.

Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended, however, the 14-year-old was pronounced dead shortly after.

Two boys, 15 and 16, from Plumstead, were charged with the murder of Kelyan in the early hours of this morning (January 16).

They have been remanded in custody and will appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court later today.

David Malone, of the Crown Prosecution Service, said: “We have today authorised the Metropolitan Police to charge two teenagers with murder following the tragic death of Kelyan Bokassa in Woolwich on January 7 2025.

“The boys, aged 15 and 16, who cannot be named at this stage in legal proceedings, will appear at Bromley Youth Court for a first hearing on Thursday January 16.

“Our thoughts remain with Kelyan’s family and friends at this difficult time.

“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds everyone that criminal proceedings are active and each of the defendants has the right to a fair trial.

“It is extremely important that there be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”

Following a manhunt by the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, three arrests were made on yesterday (January 15).

A 44-year-old woman was arrested for assisting an offender and has since been released under investigation.
