Mulepackers Country and Western Dance is a regular hirer of Laverstock & Ford Village Hall, and after a succesful year of fundraising by the group, the hall will benefit from a £1700 cheque.
The cheque was presented to members of the hall committee on Saturday, December 21 at their line dancer’s Christmas party.

The village hall is in need of many repairs, including the drains, roof, side path, exterior walls at the front and side, as well as internal decorating and upgrades, as it is well used by various social groups in the area.

Committee and bookings secretary Ruth Harris said: “The hall management committee will continue fundraising efforts in 2025. In the mean time we give huge thanks to our wonderful line dancers and their leaders, Mel Cane and Mike Sainsbury, for their donation.”
Mel added: “It was really nice for all the Mulepackers to hear what the hall is needing or planning to do.
“We do both line and western partner dancing, mainly at Laverstock Village Hall. Each year we choose a local charity to support. We raise funds by holding social dances, raffles, demonstrations and talks, and one of our members holds a summer garden party at her home to boost the funds.”
