Lines blocked on Welsh train route due to ‘defective track’

All lines are blocked on a Welsh train route due to a defective track. National Rail says that services between Tywyn and Machynlleth may be cancelled or revised on Thursday night as a speed restriction has been put in place between Tywyn and Dovey Junction.

A rail replacement bus service is running between Tywyn and Machynlleth, provided by Lloyds Coaches. National Rail says that passengers affected may be entitled to compensation if they experience a delay in completing their journey.

The issue is affecting the Transport for Wales route between Pwllheli and Machynlleth. National Rail says that disruption is expected to continue until at least 7.15pm this evening.
