The man was charged in connection with road traffic offences and the items found within were assessed and found to be safe during the incident on Friday, January 3.

An eye-witness told Glasgow Live that the road was closed in both directions and no one was allowed near the area. The area was later reopened to motorists and pedestrians. The man will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
