Man dies after two-vehicle crash on A465

A man has died in hospital following a two-vehicle crash along a key road. Two cars, a red VW Polo and a black Renault Clio, crashed on the A465 yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, January 15.

The driver of the Clio, a man in his 80s, was taken to hospital where he later died. The driver of the VW Polo was treated for minor injuries.

Police are now appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward. Anyone with information is asked to call 01905 717431 quoting incident number 288i of 15th January.

PC Callum Ridyard said “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has passed away. We are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dash-cam footage, to support with our enquiries.”

A statement from West Mercia Police added: “Officers are appealing for witnesses after a man died following a collision in Allensmore, Herefordshire.

“The collision happened on the A465, close to the junction with the B4348, at around 4.40pm yesterday afternoon (15 January) and involved two cars; a red VW Polo and a black Renault Clio.

“The driver of the Renault Clio, a man in his eighties, sadly later died in hospital. The driver of the VW Polo was treated for minor injuries.
