Manhunt for Jimmy Doran after bogus 999 calls on bombs and gunshots made

Police are hunting for a Castleford man who is accused of making repeated hoax phonecalls to the emergency services.

Jimmy Doran, 27, hounded emergency services with bogus calls over two days in December. Such was the nature of the calls, they prompted a large response from the emergency services heading to make-believe scenes.

The calls included fake reports of bomb threats and gunshots.

West Yorkshire Police said: “Police are appealing for information to help locate Jimmy Doran who is wanted in connection with making hoax phonecalls to emergency services.

“Jimmy, aged 27, and from Castleford, is wanted after a number of hoax calls, including for a bomb and firearms discharge, were made to police, the fire service, and ambulance over a two-day period last month which resulted in emergency service resources being deployed.”
