Matthew Heaton of Lark Hill, Worcester, appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on Thursday (January 2) charged with a series of offences against the same alleged victim and is due to appear again at crown court later this month.
Heaton is charged with: false imprisonment on January 1 against a female with the charge that he ‘assaulted and unlawfully and injuriously imprisoned’ the complainant and ‘detained her against her will’; threats to kill on the same date and against the same complainant, intending that she would ‘fear that the said threat would be carried out’; criminal damage to property valued under £5000, again on January 1 with the property said to belong to the complainant named in the first two charges.

He is also charged with assaulting a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm and intentional strangulation against the same complainant, again on January 1.
Heaton faces a further charge of theft on January 1 involving a stole iPhone 12 and keys, of a value unknown belonging to the same complainant.
The case was adjourned for a further hearing at Worcester Crown Court on January 30 for a plea and trial preparation hearing. Heaton was remanded in custody in the meantime.
