It has been almost four months since Gracie, a Bosnian Dachshund, went missing on September 8.
Her owners Michael Anthony and Gaynor Rogers immediately flew back from Turkey to begin the search but now, 117 days later, the pair hope a massive drone search could help reveal her whereabouts.
The drone search will be taking place on January 18 and 19 weather permitting and pilots will also be looking for other missing dogs such as Otis.
The pair have not given up looking for Gracie but admitted they were getting a bit desperate after temperatures plummeted to -5C in parts of the county.
Michael Anthony said: “We have had to wait until now for all the leaves to fall off the trees and hedges which has been frustrating for us both.
“We would have had them out every day if we could but we were advised to wait so we can do a proper job.
“We haven’t had any new sightings for a while but the recent weather has taken the leaves off the trees and we should be able to see much better in the areas where she could have been seen.
“We haven’t got anything new to go on but we are always hoping to find her.”
Currently, four drone pilots – many of whom participated in the original searches – have agreed to give up their weekend to search for Gracie and other missing dogs but more are welcome to join.
Gracie was last seen on the A44 between Wood Norton and Fladbury on November 6 but has also been sighted on Walcott Lane.
Mr Anthony continued: “We are getting a bit desperate because it was -5C last night (January 2) in the area.
“We also heard about Otis who is not that far away so will will also be looking for him at the same time as well as any other missing dogs.
“I haven’t spoken with his owners but we are in the same sort of area and it’s always best to keep an eye out.”
