It has been four years since a mum-of-five was last seen and her heartbroken family are still searching for answers. Carol Mighall, from Tranmere, was last seen on January 4 2021 on Rodney Street in Birkenhead.

On the day she disappeared, Carol was seen on CCTV in a convenience store on the corner of Rodney Street and Argyle Street South near the centre of Birkenhead. She bought a litre bottle of vodka and 20 cigarettes and then headed in the direction of Birkenhead Central train station, wearing a khaki coloured parka-style coat with grey fur on the hood, blue jeans and black and white speckled trainers.

Carol, who is now 55, is described as a white female, 5ft 4in tall, of slim build and with a pale complexion. She has brown shoulder length hair, often worn in a ponytail. She was also carrying a black handbag with a shoulder strap.

But two years on from her disappearance, Carol’s family are still in the dark about her whereabouts. Merseyside Police confirmed to the ECHO that Carol is still registered as missing, but said there were no further updates on her disappearance.

In a previous interview with the ECHO, Carol’s daughter Kayleigh Doyle said: “We were like each other’s shadows. We were always together and she was always with the kids. The kids miss her and all want her to come home.”

Carol has five children and nine grandchildren who have all been out looking for her since the day of her disappearance. Kayleigh said: “The look on my kids faces every time they see a picture of her – it’s the look of heartbreak. We miss her everyday.

“If she doesn’t want to come home message one of us; it doesn’t have to be a family member it could be a friend or it could be the police, so we’ve got a bit of peace of mind that she’s out there and she’s fine, she’s just not ready to come home. “No one is angry with her. No one is going to shout at her. We just want her to come home.”
