In August 2024, Luxe Hospitality Group reopened the Newmarket pub in Earlsetown after the previous tenants left following a dispute with the brewery.
With Luxe carrying out an internal and external refurbishment of the Market Street boozer, many have applauded the business’ efforts of bringing a landmark pub back to life.
Run by Newton businessman Daniel Thompson, Luxe also operates the Orford Hotel in Warrington and the company has decided to add the Old Crow Inn, on Crow Lane East, to its growing collection of boozers.

Enticed by a family connection and emboldened by the growing success of the Newmarket, Daniel felt like it was the right move to take over the Old Crow and promises to bring a touch of “Luxe magic” to the pub.
Daniel, who is also the founder of the Ava-Marie Foundation, said: “This pub was a local of my late father, Alan Roberts, so it felt right to take over the management of the pub as soon as it became available.
“Commercially, we have shown what we bring to the community through free events for families which has been a huge success.
“We feel that we are able to reinvent the Old Crow to its former glory. We look forward to bringing a touch of Luxe magic and look forward to welcoming both current and new customers.”
The mayor and local councillors were invited to the Newmarket’s reopening in August (Image: Daniel Thompson) After signing an initial temporary agreement with the pub’s brewery, Daniel has long-term plans for the Old Crow that include extended opening hours and a small food menu.
With aims to reopen the pub next week after an internal “spruce up”, there will also be quiz nights, karaoke, and a wide selection of drinks on offer.
