Dr Helen Perryman-Smith opened Pawsitive Vet Care in December and has been delighted with how “well-received” it has been in the local community.
She has now shared some photos with The Shuttle of the interior of the clinic, which she hopes will create a calming environment for the animals in her care.
The mum-of-one, who now lives in Kidderminster, said: “Our practice is designed to reduce stress with spacious consulting rooms, a waiting area to reduce eye contact between animals and comfortable kennels for animals who need to stay in the hospital.
“Cats, rabbit and other small mammals have their own dedicated areas to reduce their exposure to the sight and smell of dogs to help make the experience as stress-free as possible.”
The site has been completely transformed from its original look (Image: Pawsitive Vet Care) Dr Perryman-Smith graduated from The Royal Veterinary College (RVC) in 2009 and has spent the last 15 years working in small animal care including practices in Kent, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
She remains focused on providing the best possible treatment to the animals in her care and has paid particular attention to the interior design of the clinic.
This includes making sure that nothing is too bright or white and by installing wood-effect furniture to create a natural and homely feel.
The before and after pictures show the dramatic transformation of the site with Dr Perryman-Smith “delighted” with the reactions.

“Our first patients have appreciated the calm atmosphere and several have accepted treats for the first time at a vet practice which demonstrates how much more relaxed they are.”
