Person in hospital after incident at Beamish Park Golf Club

Emergency services were called to the Beamish Park Golf Club, near Stanley, on Friday (January 10) after reports of a person injured shortly before 10.50am. 

Two ambulance vehicles were sent to the scene alongside a helicopter from the Great North Air Ambulance Service, which landed on the green. 

The North East Ambulance Service has now confirmed that one person was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle, by road. Their current condition is not known. 

As previously reported, an image from the scene showed how the helicopter had landed on a section of the snow-covered golf club, which is located just beside the museum.

A spokesperson for North East Ambulance Service said: “We were called shortly before 10.50 this morning to a person injured at Beamish Park Hotel.

“We dispatched two vehicles from our Hazardous Area Response Team, a clinical team leader and a double creed ambulance.

“We were also supported by Great North Air Ambulance Service. One patient was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary by road.”

A GNAAS spokesperson previously said: “Our team was activated to an incident near Beamish at 10:58 am.

“The doctor and paramedic team arrived on scene at 11:14am and are working with the North East Ambulance Service to treat a patient.”
