Police called after youngsters launch eggs at cars in Portadown – Armagh I

Police were called to a group of teenagers lobbing eggs at a cars in Portadown on Wednesday evening.

There were reports of anti-social behaviour in the Ballyoran Hill / Garvaghy Road area of the town.

Sinn Féin councillor, Paul Duffy, reported that a number of cars in the Ballyoran Hill area were targeted with stones and eggs and urged anyone who knew who they were to “please tell them to desist before someone is hurt”.

Police confirmed that they had received a report that a number of young people were throwing eggs at cars in the Garvaghy Road area of Portadown at approximately 8pm.

Police spokesperson said: “It’s understood no cars were hit by the eggs. Officers attended the area – but the young people at left prior to their arrival.

“Police would ask parents and guardians to speak to their young people about where they are and who they are with, and to warn them of the dangers of getting involved in this type of behaviour.”
