Police name Warrington man charged following drug conspiracy raids

Officers from North West Regional Organised Crime Unit executed warrants in Warrington and further afield on Wednesday morning.

The raids across Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and north Wales were supported by additional officers from local forces.

In total, teams searched 12 properties in Warrington, St Helens, Skelmersdale, Worsley, Cheadle and Caernarfon.

During the searches, police seized approximately £130,000 in cash and 2kg of cocaine.

In total, 10 men and two women were arrested on suspicion of drug offences, including conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs, and taken to police stations for questioning.

Now, Jack Donegan, aged 28 and of Briers Close in Cinnamon Brow, has been charged with conspiracy to supply the class A drugs, cocaine and ketamine.

He will make a first appearance in relation to the charge before Chester Magistrates’ Court this morning, Friday.

A 25-year-old woman from Warrington who was arrested during the raids has been bailed pending further investigation.

Detectives have also charged a further nine men and a woman following their ‘extensive investigation’.

Speaking after the arrests, DI Kelly Wild, of NWROCU, said: “These warrants were executed following a meticulous investigation.

“It involved months of hard work by my officers and our partner forces to dismantle organised crime groups that bring misery to our communities.

“This investigation demonstrates our unwavering commitment to cracking down on drug-related activity and to anyone who is involved in this type of crime – we will catch up with you and you will be brought to justice.

“Drugs blight communities, and we are committed to ensuring those responsible for their distribution are brought to justice.”

As well as Briers, the following people have also been charged:

  • Phil Moores, 56 and of Fawcett, Skelmersdale, was charged with two counts of conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
  • John Anderson, 41 and of Elmstead, Skelmersdale, was charged with conspiracy to supply a class A drug.
  • Keith Rowlands, 59 and of Maes Gwynedd, Caernarfon, was charged with conspiracy to supply a class A drug.
  • Stephen Joel Craven, 41 and of Kingsbury Court, Skelmersdale, was charged with conspiracy to supply a class A drug.
  • Sean Windsor, 33 and of Parsonage Road, Skelmersdale, was charged with conspiracy to supply a class A drug.
  • Rob Haworth, 51 and of Tulip Road, Haydock, was charged with conspiracy to supply a class A drug.
  • Michelle Cornock, 51 and of Ivydale, Skelmersdale, was charged with conspiracy to supply a class A drug and possession with intent to supply a class B drug.
  • Kelvin Pledger, 37 and of Harsnips, Shelmersdale, was charged with conspiracy to supply a class A drug.
  • Mark Lloyd, 48 and of Thornton Road, Worsley, was charged with conspiracy to supply a class A drug.
  • Glen Cavanagh, 56 and of Greenville Court, Cheadle, was charged with conspiracy to supply a class A drug.

They have all been remanded in custody and are set to appear at magistrates’ courts across the region this morning.
