Interruption to water supplies for Inverness residents
The outage was reported early this morning, with initial estimates of around 11am for a fix to repair a burst water pipe causing an interruption to residents’ supply.
But a later update moved the estimated repair time to 4pm. A further update has confirmed 8pm as engineers’ new target time.
Scottish Water have confirmed that at this stage, they do not plan to provide bottled water to residents.
The water authority provided the following update at 4pm: “We are currently repairing a burst water pipe which is causing the interruption to the water supply for customers in Inverness.
“The estimated completion time for the repair is 8pm. We expect to complete the repair in a timeframe which means we do not plan to provide bottled water.
“The water supply will gradually return to normal for customers once the repair has been completed.”
A further update is expected at 8.30pm.
