Police have launched a major investigation after a schoolboy was stabbed in an early hours street attack. The child victim, 14, suffered serious injuries in the Oldbury incident.
Officers cordoned off part of Brunel Road after the knife attack earlier this morning, Saturday, January 4. A small white tent was also seen erected in the street as drivers were diverted around the scene.
The victim was found with a serious knife wound and taken to hospital. He remains in a serious condition, West Midlands Police said. A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

He remains in police custody while enquiries continue. Anyone with information has been urged to get in touch with the force.
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: “We are investigating after a teenage boy was stabbed in Oldbury. We were called to Brunel Road in the early hours of this morning (4 January) after a 14-year-old boy was found with a serious knife wound.
“He was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition. A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody while our enquiries continue.
“We are remaining at the scene this morning to carry out further enquiries and anyone with information about what happened can contact us via 101 or Live Chat quoting crime number 20/103027/25.”
