A new wellbeing tool aimed at helping residents find free local activities, events and services using artificial intelligence has been launched.
Discover More – an online platform which can recommend personalised services tailored to each individual’s interest and wellbeing goals – has been unveiled by Suffolk Libraries.
The tool was developed in partnership with Suffolk Mind and Orbital Global, a Stowmarket-based firm and finalists of AI Business of the Year 2024 Awards.

The five-year project was designed to enhance people’s library experience and wellbeing by helping them discover local services and events, such as art classes, author talks and wellbeing support programmes.
Bruce Leeke, CEO of Suffolk Libraries, said: “As the NHS enters a new era of integrated care, with more join-up community-based support, Discover More offers a new way for people to understand what support is available and how it can help them improve their wellbeing.”
Discover More was funded by Arts Council England and Suffolk County Council.

The platform uses data from Suffolk Libraries and Suffolk Infolink, powered by an AI-driven algorithm, to suggest personalised local services.
Hayden Allen-Vercoe, chief operating officer at Orbital Global, said the project was challenging.
“We had to carefully curate vast amounts of data from various sources, develop sophisticated algorithms to analyse user preferences and design an intuitive user interface.
“The most rewarding aspect has been seeing how Discover More empowers individuals to connect with local services and activities that genuinely improve their lives.
“It’s a testament to the power of AI used for positive social impact.”
