Teignbridge’s motorists will have 13 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.
And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing a holdup of between 10 minutes and half an hour.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 13 closures are due to start over the next two weeks:
• A38, from 10am to 4pm on January 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 both directions Chudleigh to Ashburton, mobile lane closures (not exceeding 6KM) for inspection/surveys.

• A30, from 8pm January 13 to 6am January 14, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A30 eastbound, Woodleigh exit and entry slip closed for LED upgrade, diversion for entry via Whiddon Down, diversion for exit via Alphington.
• A30, from 8pm January 13 to 6am January 14, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 31 entry slip road closed including lane closures on M5 southbound and A30 eastbound, diversion via A30, A38 to Kennford and return.
• A38, from 8pm January 14 to 6am January 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 31 – lane closures for electrical works.
• A38, from 8pm January 15 to 4am January 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Lower Dean to Dartbridge – lane closure for drainage works.
• A30, from 6am to 2pm on January 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 westbound, M5, junction 31 to Woodleigh, lane closure for surveys.
• A38, from 8am to 4pm on January 18, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 both directions Dartbridge slip road closures including lane closures on main A38 for Geotech inspections, diversion for eastbound, entry slip road via Old Ashburton Road, diversion for westbound, exit slip road via A38 to Lower Dean, B3380 eastbound.
• A30, from 10am to 2pm on January 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A30 eastbound, Fingle Glen exit and entry slip closed for surveys (westbound, exit and entry slip closed by default), diversion for eastbound, entry slip via Tedburn St. Mary to Woodleigh, diversion for eastbound, exit slip via Alphington, A30 westbound to Woodleigh and Gold Cross Hill, westbound, exit to Woodleigh and Goldscross Hill.
• A38, from 7pm January 20 to 6am January 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Peartree and Linhay entry slip closures, with convoy working for carriageway repairs, diversion via A38 westbound to Dartbridge, junction (A384) and return.
• A38, from 7pm January 21 to 6am January 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Drumbridges entry slip closure, with convoy working for carriageway repairs, diversion via A38 westbound to Linhay, junction (B3352) and return.
• A38, from 7pm January 22 to 6am January 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Goodstone exit slip closure, for carriageway repairs, diversion via A38 eastbound to Drumbridges (A382), Liverton and Bickington.
• A38, from 7pm January 22 to 6am January 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Chudleigh exit slip closure, for carriageway repairs, diversion via A38 eastbound to Exeter racecourse and return.
• A38, from 7pm January 23 to 6am January 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A38 eastbound, Goodstone exit slip closure, for carriageway repairs, diversion via A38 eastbound to Drumbridges (A382), Liverton and Bickington.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
