Torquay group to provide safe space for men

A new peer-to-peer support group for men over 18 experiencing storms in their lives will start meeting regularly in Torquay.

Monday, January 20 marks the first date of the ANDYSMANCLUB, which will operate support groups every Monday at 7pm, excluding bank holidays, from Endeavour House, 228 Union Street.

Groups are free to attend, and no registration is required.

The group was founded after the death by suicide of Andy Roberts.

Andy had given no indication to his family that he was suicidal; as a result, his brother-in-law, Luke Ambler, and mother, Elaine Roberts, founded ANDYSMANCLUB in the hope that men who struggle to open up have a safe space to do so.

ANDYSMANCLUB has had a presence in Devon since 2018, when the Newton Abbot group first opened.

Since that time it has grown to the point that Torquay will be group number eleven in Devon.

If there is any man in the Torquay area who is 18+ and would like to come along to a free, non-judgemental, confidential, and safe space to speak with other like-minded men about anything they might want to get off their chest, please go along to Endeavour House, 228 Union Street, Torquay, TQ2 5QS, 7-9 pm, from 20th January 2025 onwards.
