Shield Green Nurseries is a family-run working nursery near The Dipton Mill pub, just outside of Hexham.
The nursery has been established since 1970 and boasts three generations of growers, starting with Jim and Marjorie Robinson.
Their daughter Kathleen and her husband Steven Dunn were the second generation to take over while their son, Graeme Dunn, is also involved.
The pair have lived in the area their whole lives and say they appreciate their regular loyal customers.

It was voted Trader of the Week by several readers for the businesses’ dedication to working at Hexham marketplace in all weather, where the nursery has traded for more than 50 years.
Zoe Keen said: “They have worked so hard over the past month and been there in all weathers.”
Haley Stokoe added: “Came wind rain or hail, they are always there!”

The business also offers a range of bird care products, eggs and cut flowers, some of which are grown at the nursery, both at the nursery and at Hexham marketplace.
Steven said the business also previously had a shop in Newcastle’s Green Market for several years until 2000.
He explained what they enjoy about running their business in Hexham.
“We have good loyal customers that come week in, week out and lovely people that come to visit Hexham and buy a plant or two off of us. They all say how nice Hexham is and it’s on our doorstep.”
He said they felt ‘privileged’ to be nominated Trader of the Week.
“We try to make sure we’re there every day because we get regular people coming for eggs and bird feed so we like to think we’re always going to be there, doesn’t matter what the weather’s going to be like. We’ll always be standing there when they come around the corner, we’re very rarely beaten.
“We also depend on a lot of passing trade, especially in holiday time,” Steven added.
He said he and his family are ‘really grateful’ for their customers and appreciate their loyalty.
Shield Green Nurseries is at Hexham marketplace year-round, from Tuesday to Saturday from early morning to 5pm.
