Officers were called to Shields Road, in Byker, on Friday (January 3) after a man, aged in his 30s, was found to have sustained minor injuries consistent with having been assaulted.
He was taken to hospital for treatment while two men – aged 36 and 42 – and a 47-year-old woman were arrested in connection with the reported incident.
Northumbria Police has confirmed they have now all been charged with affray and possession of an offensive weapon and appeared at Newcastle Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
The trio have now been named as Amanda Dudley, 47, of Buteland Road, Newcastle, Amar Akhtar, 42, of Strathmore Crescent, Newcastle, and Rejen Karim, 36, of Buteland Road, Newcastle.
They were released on conditional bail ahead of their next appearance at Newcastle Crown Court on February 3.

The force has confirmed that the man has since been discharged from hospital and officers are continuing to investigate the alleged incident.
