Virginia McCullough: Essex Police probe pictures in Chelmsford home

Virginia McCullough, 36, was arrested on suspicion of murder by Essex Police at her parents’ home in Pump Hill, Great Baddow, on September 15, 2023.

After her arrest, it was found that she poisoned her father John McCullough, 70, with prescription medication that she crushed and put into his alcoholic drinks in June 2019.

A day later on June 20 she also beat her 71-year-old mother Lois McCullough with a hammer and fatally stabbed her.

The family of John and Lois released a joint statement, paying tribute to the beloved parents and thanking Essex Police for their hard work.

Now, Essex Police has confirmed it is investigating a video which has surfaced online that was taken inside John and Lois’ home by an urban exploring account.

An Essex Police spokesman said: “We are aware of footage, taken from within a private property, circulating on social media.

“Whilst our enquiries into this footage and how it was obtained are ongoing, we ask people not to share it any further out of respect for the grieving family at the heart of this matter.”
