Volkswagen Golf driver ‘caught without insurance for third time in 18 months’

A motorist has been caught driving without insurance for the third time in 18 months. Police said the driver had ‘not long got his licence back’ when he was pulled over.

Brierley Hill officers were believed to have spotted the Volkswagen Golf on Monday, January 13. The team took to X to share a picture of the vehicle, which appeared to have been stopped on a busy street.

Officers said the car had been seized ‘again’ following the incident. The driver had also been ‘reported to court’.

The post read: “Third time we’ve stopped this driver in the last 18 months… Again, the vehicle had no insurance.

“He’s not long got his licence back from the first two occasions. The vehicle has been seized again. The driver has been reported to court.”

One X user replied to share their belief there “should be a three strike rule”. They added: “On the third time sell car at auction and donate money to local homeless shelter.” Another chipped in: “Minimum fine £1,000 as that’s probably the annual insurance premium he’s trying to avoid paying.”
