The funeral of one of Moray’s best-loved businessmen will take place this week.
Walker’s Shortbread’s former managing director Sir Jim Walker died at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on December 15, aged 80.

Tributes instantly poured in for the man who dedicated more than 60 years of his life to building the iconic Walker’s brand across the world.
Mourners will have the chance to pay personal tributes to Sir Jim Walker at Aberlour Parish Church on Thursday, January 9, at 1pm.
His death notice reads: “Sir James (Jim) Nicol CBE, of Aberlour, aged 80 years.
“Much-loved husband of Jennifer and father of Jamie, Jacqui, Bryony and Alastair and adoring Pops of Logan, Romy, Joshua, Torren, Joanie and Wyatt.
“Funeral service at Aberlour Parish Church on Thursday, 9th January, 2025, at 1pm, thereafter to Aberlour Cemetery.
“All friends are welcome. Family flowers only please.
“Donations, if desired, may be given to The King’s Trust, at the service or online.”
Sir Jim Walker was awarded a CBE for services to his industry in 1999 and, in 2022, was named within the prestigious Central Chancery of the Orders of Knighthood in Queen Elizabeth II’s last Birthday Honours list.
Walker’s Shortbread said he will be remembered as a “devoted, energetic and kind man”.
