Warrington based The Coffee House opens in Ellesmere Port

This January the independent coffee shop chain will open its 29th store in The Port Arcade Shopping Centre in Ellesmere Port.

It will officially open in the second week of January 2025 at 8am.

Founded in Lymm in 2011, by brothers Chris and Stephen Shelmerdine, The Coffee House describes itself as a “community hub where locals can come together to enjoy fresh, handmade food and locally roasted coffee”.

In 2024 it opened new locations in Stockton Heath and the Cockhedge Shopping Centre.

Managing director, Chris said “When designing each new location, we aim to create an environment that reflects the unique spirit of the community.

“We include location-specific wall murals in every store as a nod to the community we’re joining. Be sure to spot Ellesmere Port’s mural when you visit.”

Their signature house blend coffee is roasted in-house in Warrington with all food made fresh daily in their central production facility, including the bread, baked fresh each morning.

The Ellesmere Port location will also feature The Coffee House’s freshly made food items, including sandwiches, paninis, cakes, teacakes, breakfast options, and more, all handmade daily.

Work on the Ellesmere Port store is nearly complete and job advertisements for baristas and store managers are live on The Coffee House’s careers page.

Adam Fletcher, Head of Growth for The Coffee House said: “We would like to extend a big thank you to our incredible community as we continue to grow. Since our first store in 2011, your support has driven all our efforts as an independent coffee shop.”

“We are super excited to open in Ellesmere Port. One of the highlights of this area is the way people here support independent businesses. It makes a real difference. We’re thrilled to be part of a community that values local and independent enterprises.”
