Better.co.uk also revealed other affordable areas for first-time buyers in the North West.

Stockport, with an average house price of £227,589, is for those seeking the ‘best of both worlds’, with its rural views and easy access to Manchester’s city centre.
Finally, Preston, with an average house price of £240,730, offers a variety of activities including the Harris Museum and Art Gallery, Haslam Park, and an inflatable theme park.
