Woman dies in horror crash that shut North Devon Link Road for nine hours

A woman has died after a three-vehicle crash near South Molton. A second woman was airlifted to hospital following the collision on the A361 North Devon link road, near Bish Mill, yesterday (Tuesday, January 14).

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 3.15pm and a full road closure was put in place. The crash involved a grey Peugeot Partner Combi, a black Nissan Qashqai and a silver Ford Transit van.

The driver of the Peugeot, a woman in her 60s from West Yorkshire, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Nissan driver, a woman in her 40s from Torquay, suffered a serious leg injury and was airlifted to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

The road was shut for around nine hours as investigation and recovery work took place. Police are now appealing to the public for information.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Officers from the Roads Policing Team are carrying out enquiries as to the circumstances of the collision and are appealing for information from the public. Any witnesses or any drivers with relevant dashcam are asked to contact police online of by telephone on 101, quoting log number 405 of 14/01/25.”
